St. Petersburg, FL - The Tampa Bay Society of Photographic Artists, a non-profit organization presents 'Dark Moments' - a themed photographic art exhibition. With over a hundred submissions, the society has gone through a rigorous curation process and chosen nineteen Tampa Bay fine art photographers to exhibit throughout the month of November at Creative Soul Studio in St. Petersburg, FL. These artists are: Charles Titterington, Erik Cocks, Javi Ortiz, Joe Holland, Kevin Barney, Mahesh Patel, Mark Rodriguez, Marlene Fox, Michael Trefry, Myra Thiessen, Patricia Blauvelt, Steven Baltz, Jose Gomez, Annie Gonzalez, Jim Miller, Michael Sheehan, Jacob Michael, Pierre Dutertre and Cathy Dutertre. This marks TBSoPA's fourth exhibit in only 3 months, positioning the organization to become a top influencer in the Tampa Bay art community. Participants in the exhibit include award-winning photographic artists and rising stars from the local community.
"Putting together an exhibition with an open ended theme like Dark Moments allows artists to challenge themselves and explore other avenues for artistic expression," commented board member, Michael Trefry. "Leaving the theme up for interpretation, allows the artist to focus on one topic while still giving them the flexibility to do whatever they want to get the message across."
Located on Central Avenue, Creative Soul Studio serves as both an art gallery and coffee bar. The exhibition will open Saturday, November 12th at Creative Soul Studio from 6pm to 9pm with a special invitation only preview on Friday, November 11th for Media, other Art Galleries and Museums in the Tampa Bay area. With this event, the society hopes to unite independent artists under one theme with the outcome of many narratives.
